Grants for organisations helping those in financial hardship now open

Financial Counselling Australia (FCA) has welcomed the Federal Government announcement of the next round of grants for Financial Wellbeing and Capability programs.

Applications are now open for the following grant programs:

  • Emergency Relief
  • Food Relief (and Material Aid)
  • Commonwealth Financial Counselling and Financial Capability
  • Financial Counselling for Gambling
  • Financial Wellbeing Hubs.

Closed grant processes will follow for the National Debt Helpline, No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS), NILS for Vehicles, Saver Plus and Financial Counselling and Capability Sector Support programs.

“These grants are vital for many organisations in our sector to provide crucial support to people in financial hardship,” said co-CEO of FCA, Dr Domenique Meyrick.

“They will give the sector more certainly so they can deliver services to some of the most vulnerable people in Australia,” Dr Meyrick said.

The five-year grants will take effect from July 2025 and FCA urges eligible organisations within the sector to apply. A list of the grants can be found on the GrantConnect website.
